Skull Purse

Here are some pics of the new dolly purse I made:

The dress is made by Dollheart, but the purse is by me!
(There will soon be a Dia De Los Muertos one as well!)

This little skull purse is fully functional (the next pic shows it open)
and is entirely hand sewn using embroidery techniques!
The strap is a beautiful, silk, hand dyed ribbon with an extra silk, hand dyed bow tied on.

Here it is open, as you can see, it has a snap closure, and you can put
fun little dolly things inside!

Pidge: It's so lovely out... but getting cold. Maybe I need a scarf?

This purse, along with the soon to come Dia De Los Muertos purse
are my own design, and will soon be heading to my
etsy shop!

A picture for Ginger @ bearbits

I just thought I'd share the following picture:

A while back, I asked Ginger if she could make me a Sebastian style bear...
but smaller, so it would be in scale with my Dollfie Dreams.

Ginger came through with flying colors.
This little guy is one well loved bear!

I actually make the purse my doll is carrying... but you can barely see it!
So here is a better picture:

The dolls have taken over!

I collect dolls.

This is one of my Azone Pure Neemo dolls, she is an [Ex Cute] Majokko Aika / Little Witch of the Flame, but I call her Sam

Mostly Volks Dollfie Dreams and Azone Pure Neemos (although I now have one Blythe... she creeps everyone out and I love it, and I also have a few Barbie).

I've always wanted to do something "more" with them, other than just have them sit around and look nice, so...

they've started a blog.

A blog where they review toys.

Yes, toys reviewing toys.

If you're so inclined... and like things like chocolates, books, dollies, doll clothes, teddy bears, other stuffed animals, etc etc etc, please stop by and check it out :)

PS, I have been sick lately :(

Moooore Purses!

Yes, I've still been sewing away!!! So many adorable little purses to be made!

Here are just a few of what's at my Etsy shop!
I'm working on a prototype for some smaller sized ones too, so that I can have an MDD, YoSD and Blythe/Pullip/Pure Neemo sized purse as well! XD

What HAVE I been up to?!

It's been a while since I've posted anything, and honestly, I'm not really sure why. I know I began this blog to document my teddy making progress... which is still progressing, slowwwwwwly... but I've also been making other crafts.

Most recently, BJD purses! They are small purses made to fit SD sized dolls, and are pictured here with my Dollfie Dream girls. (if you want to learn more about Dollfie Dream girls, go to www.volksusa.com )

So anyhow, here are the pics of a few purses, they've been turning out really cute!!!
They are all available on my etsy shop :)

If anyone sees one they're interested in, but it's been sold, ask about it! I have more fabric for most of them... so I can probably make another... unless it's the llama purse, that's all there is on that one, folks!

Modding Dolls

I recently got my hands on some very stained, sad little doll heads that I thought I would try modding on, since they were already a bit messed up to begin with XD... Here is the first victim, made to look like Kuroneko from an anime called My Little Sister Can't Possibly Be This Cute (or... something like that):

Another goofy doll face XD

This is a model called a Dollfie Dream, more like an oversized anime styled Barbie... I did this faceup too... oh yes, it's a doll painting extravaganza!

It's a doll kinda day...

While I'm still cutting out and putting together my new pattern, let me fill the interlude with dolls.
This is my Volks Irvin in a Dollheart Steampunk outfit... I apologize if you can't stand Super Dollfie!

Hmm...

As a child, I NEVER liked dolls. I much preferred plush friends. Dolls just creeped me out... and I'm sure it had to do with their stares, and my over active imagination.

When you were a child, did you ever stare so long, and so intently at an inanimate object that your mind started playing tricks, and the object started to appear to move? I'm not sure what causes this... or if it's just my crazy brain that does this... but when it came to doll eyes, I was always afraid that one day I'd look over and they'd be staring at me. They'd ALL be staring at me... and the belief that they could even accomplish such a task came from those periods where I'd stare intently at them and my imagination would kick into overdrive.

Well, as an adult, that childhood fear died when I came across Asian Ball Jointed Dolls. I don't know if it's because they resemble cartoons, or if it's because I now take an active part in their customization... but they just don't scare me, for the most part (granted, at one point I owned one who looked so real that I just had to sell him... I still, foolishly, believed one day I'd wake up and he'd be staring at me)

My personal taste in these dolls leans towards the small, cute ones (I'll post pictures some day, or you can check out www.travelingtwig.blogspot.com to see a weird little blue elf one). The small ones are easy to transport... and I'm the kind of person who likes to travel and document with photographs... so I always have leaned towards things that can travel with me.

However, I have found one larger doll (43cm)... not the largest of this type of doll, by any means, but just about as big as I'd ever want to go. She has a meloncholy look at times, and there is just something about the 'sad, quiet princess' persona that draws me in when it comes to dolls. I love it when they look like they could be reminiscing about the past...

I know this seems like a bit of a random post for a crafts blog... and while I did not sculpt the doll, I did paint her face... and I love that about these dolls, that you can have such a dramatic effect on their expression with nothing more than a paintbrush and some paints.

Anyhow, here's a pic of the wee princess... she currently doesn't have any sort of name... and maybe I'll just leave her nameless... it's kind of mysterious that way:
