Some neat giveaways from other bloggers...
Here are two lovely giveaways!
BearMeToo is having a lovely giveaway for a cute little flower ornament... her bears are so lovely and unique, I've never seen anything like them and I adore their originality!
Click the picture to be taken to the giveaway page:
Silkie Sue is also having a giveaway for a very adorable little bear... I just stumbled across this site today (via desertmountainbear's blog) and can't speak much to what kind of work she does... other than that if the giveaway bear is any indication, it's fantastic and cute work!

This weekend should be another of productiveness... so keep an eye out next week for more new things! Huzzah!

That's one BIG head!
Let me begin by saying that I've always loved photographs of Blythe dolls... with their decidedly retro feel... sometimes they're just beautiful... but the dolls themselves, with their big heads and often strange eyes... often creep me out... so while I can appreciate photographs of them, I'd always been wary of owning one.
Then I found Pullip dolls... another big headed doll, and ordered some and loved them... so I thought, "Sure, why not a Blythe?!" but they still kind of scared me a little... and I wasn't willing to drop $200-some-odd dollars on a doll that I thought was a little strange.
Then I found Blybes and Basaaks. They're Blythe knockoffs that, as far as I'm concerned, are dead ringers. From what I hear, Blythe Originals don't really have that great a body anyways (most people replace them)... so why would I want to pay $200+ for something where I'm going to have to spend another $40 at least to buy it a new body?
Anyhow... I went and ordered a Basaak... and while in person she still creeps me out a bit (Her head is SO much bigger and (the part I find truly strange) flatter than a Pullip) I still can't wait to customize her and start taking pictures!!
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, here is the price difference:
Blythe: $180+
Blybe + Basaak: $25-$40
Here is my first picture of her, without any customization:

A lot of stuff!
Ok... I did some crafting this weekend and ended up with hamsters, jellyfish, a sloth, a mouse, a ... thing? and spool dolls!
First, the Jellyfish... they're pins I made and I kinda love em:
Next, HAMSTERS! AAAAAH! They're everywhere!!! These are pins that can (like my bear pins) hold small flower and such... so essentially they could be seasonal. I think I will submit these to the Thimbleprims Pin swap :) (although each one will be sent along with props to hold :) )
Here's a pic of one of the bears holdinga leaf... just to show how they hold things:
I also made a sloth who doesn't yet have his vine to hang from:This mouse is paperclay and he's a painter... or maybe he just ran through a freshly painted room, I have no idea:
This thing is just a thing that I thought was cute:
And now for the Spool Dolls! 2 Spool Bots and 2 Spool Girls :)

New Creatures, new pins
I have some new work to share today!
First is a dragon. He's bright red on top, dark red on the bottom, and has poseable wings :)
Overall he's about 10 inches long with an 8.5 inch wingspan.
Next are my new bear pins! They are about 2 inches tall and have your choice of tack pin or clasp pin backs on them :) They will come in many many more colors!

Something to show...
I have decided to give a go at the W.A. Teddy Bear Challenge. Now... I might never create a bear I feel is worth sending, but I figured I could at least try!
I got the pattern on Monday and decided to do a test run with some excess grey fur I had laying around. It was the first time I made a bear this size, and it was also the first time I really used steel shot to weight the bear.
I think I over did it... this bear is heavy as heck! Granted, he drapes very nicely in your arms... but still! Holy cow!!
Anyways, here are some pics:
