It's a Cotter Pin Conspiracy!!!

Ok, every time I go into my local hardware store, they only have about 4 or 5 packs of the size cotter pins I need. Each pack makes only one bear...

Now, I've asked them if they have more stored somewhere, to which they claim they don't, and yet, the NEXT DAY, I will go back and the meager supply of cotter pins will be restored.

Do the cotter pin faeries come at night? I think it's a conspiracy.

  1. Rofl....That made me smile anyways. I buy from bear suppliers - not so cheap but ewasy to order 100's of the things.

  3. Hi Heather,
I don't know about fairies stocking the stores at night - but I know I have a black hole in my craft room and everything I need falls into it not to reappear until I finished the project I wanted it for. Life is strange isn't it.

  4. Oh HeeHee - that is so funny Heather .Why would the store prefer it this way ????? I have a thing about Pony Beading Needles , and I'll clear a whole sticky-out-from-the-wall thing of them with glee . Usually the fairies are so peeved they don't re-stock for like , pphhhtt, months !
I've added your interesting blog to my blog links , and I hope to visit you often :0)

  5. I should look into bear suppliers too... I swear the hardware store doesn't want you to have cotter pins!

Penny... I completely understand this black hole dilemma!

and... Thanks Ruth!! It's good to know people find my blog worth looking at :)
This also reminds me that I *really* need to update my 'interesting blogs' list!!!

  6. hey Heather ....I was reading this the other day and then got sidetracked by the sidebar stuff and then I went somewhere else...and then...well, you probably know how it goes...anyway..Ize back..

I buy my cotter pins in bulk from a fastener store...ours is called Ackland Grainger... you may have something similar. I get little boxes of 100 for just over $2.00 ...the size I use are 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch...but the larger ones are about the same prices... the guys laugh when they see me coming...they tell everybody I'm holding my bears together with cotter pins and think they are hilarious... yup... and that is where the darn bear supply places get them too... then they charge their own whopping prices for them.
