A little bit creepy...
So a friend and I have been working on making doll faces... now... this one is a little creepy looking because the eyes were just put in there to build around, so they are too far back and not sitting right... among other things.
It's really a work in progress... so... forgive its little alien existence!

OOOOH!
I had a whole post typed out and accidentally hit the close button on the tab! NOOO!
Oh well, long story short, I have a new pattern in the works, and also a doll head being sculpted.
I will have pictures of the doll head tomorrow... but not sure when the new pattern for the bear will be done.
Hopefully tomorrow too.
:)

Another bear
This is actually made from the same pattern I used for the first bear I posted here, the jennylovesbenny pattern... diverse, huh?!
I had already cut this bear out before I had decided to try my hand at my own patterns... so I felt I couldn't let all the little pieces go to waste!
He's a really cute, cuddly little bugger!
I really loved working with fur... but, it didn't allow me to do the needle felting I had planned on doing for his nose, so, last minute he got a stitched nose, once I realized there was no way the needle felting was ever going to take.
It made me sad, but I'll make another white bear with my own pattern from a material that will allow needle felting... and it will be awesome :P
His name is Fluff... after that delicious, spreadable, marshmallow concoction. MMMMmmmMMMmmMMMmmm.

My own bear!
I did it... I drew up my own pattern, sewed it together and created my own little bear.
I understand I still have a long way to go... there are so many things that need perfecting... but I have to admit, I'm stupidly excited.
This little girl was finished July 22nd and her name is Toffee:
She has cotter pin joints, pellet and stuffing insides, is made from an old coat I bought at a garage sale, and is shaded with Prismacolor pens. Her eyes are just plastic (haven't bought the glass ones yet) and I needle felted her nose. I wanted to give her needle felted paw pads, but ended up feeling that she wasn't quite the right kind of bear for that... maybe the next one!
I also wanted to give her a wire armature... but I swear, trying to find an employee in Home Depot is like trying to find a Unicorn at an orgy...
Her dress is lame, I apologize :)

All's quiet on the Eastern Front
Yeah, I know, I've been lax.
Not from lack of effort though... I've been trying to develop my own pattern, because while I *LOVE* the jennylovesbenny patterns I have, they are, in the end, just that, jennylovesbenny creations.
I want little bears that sprout to life from my own imagination.
Granted, I'm still working on one jennylovesbenny patterned bear, but after that I think it'll be chronicles of me going through the trial and error process of trying to develop my own bear.
I was mainly motivated, I should mention, by the challenge on Teddy-Talk to create a new bear out of some old item... and I really wanted my creation to be all mine. :)
